Why do lifting belts have different colors

We all know that the national standard lifting belts distinguish the tonnage by color. Purple represents one ton, green represents two tons, yellow represents three tons, gray represents four tons, red represents five tons, and orange represents ten tons. This is due to the fact that the tag on the lifting belt may be worn out after a long time of use, and users can know the maximum tonnage of the load according to the color to avoid overloading.

However, there is one color of lifting belt that is not mentioned above, which is white lifting belt. This is because the raw materials of white lifting belts and color lifting belts are different, so it is not possible to distinguish the tonnage by color.

The colored lifting belt is made of high-strength polyester filament, which has good ductility, while the white lifting belt is made of polypropylene fiber. Therefore, the general safety factors for the colored lifting belt are 5:1 and 6:1, while the colored lifting belt can only reach 4:1, which leads to a significant quality difference and can only achieve a maximum load of 10 tons. The quality of this white sling is much worse than that of its color, so if it is heavy, the color sling is better.

However, the white lifting belt is not without merit. It is a type of acid cleaning. The biggest advantage is that it can be used normally in some acid and alkali environments, and ultraviolet rays do not harm the safety factor of the white lifting belt, which is incomparable to the color lifting belt.

Therefore, when selecting and purchasing lifting belts, it is not only necessary to consider the tonnage, but also the use environment, in order to choose the more suitable for us.
