At present, more and more lifting tasks tend to use lifting belts, and they are still some large-scale lifting tasks, among which typical ones include wind turbine lifting, steel box girder lifting, etc. So why is the popularity of lifting belts so high?
Firstly, there is the portability advantage of lifting belts. The competitors of lifting belts are mainly steel wire ropes and chain ropes, which have significant differences in materials. The lifting belts use synthetic fiber materials, while the latter two use metal materials. From this perspective, the weight of lifting belts is much lighter. According to data testing, the weight of lifting belts under the same rated load is only one fourth of that of metal lifting ropes, which is enough to show the portability advantage of lifting belts.
Next is the protective ability of the lifting belt for the lifting target. As the lifting belt is made of synthetic fiber material, its hardness is far lower than that of metal lifting slings. When facing many lifting targets, its low hardness is definitely not a disadvantage, but an advantage. The softer texture can provide very good protection for these lifting targets, avoiding the surface of the lifting targets from being scratched by pressure marks, which metal lifting slings obviously do not have.
These two characteristics make lifting belts widely used in many large-scale lifting tasks. While ensuring that the lifting target is intact and the lifting task is carried out safely and smoothly, it also greatly improves the efficiency of lifting operations. This is the main reason why lifting belts are highly popular.
